It is winter. The ground is frozen, the trees are bare and the days are grey. The mule is fine, though. He is old, but he knows a lot, has done a lot in his life. He knows who he is and is happy. He knows the signs of spring and he just waits. He has his routine, which is comforting. He still shines after all these years and the people who love him see that.
